At the heart of J2People is a core belief that treating your team positively will enable people and businesses to thrive. In a much more litigious culture, managers are often nervous to address issues until small concerns become big problems and then it can be easy to pass the ball to HR.
We are really excited to be launching our Positive People Framework. We have developed a framework of policies, toolkits and training for line managers to empower them to lead their team and embed a fair and inclusive culture where everyone is treated with respect and trust. Whether it be understanding how to manage misconduct, facilitate high performance or consult on changes, we provide the tools, techniques and training to do this in the right way. We provide coaching and tips on how to approach conversations and situations with a pragmatic and open mindset to enable resolution where possible without the need to revert to formal processes.
Don’t forget your employees need help too..
We also think of your employees too. How much thought goes into how an employee who is going through a disciplinary or grievance process is feeling? Unfortunately, the answer is usually ‘not a lot’. We’ve found often employees are simply given a formal letter and a copy of a legalistic, complicated policy. In conjunction with our line manager support we also provide simplified policies written directly to an employee and accompanying toolkits so they understand the particular process and how and where to access support. We take the fear out of the situation which enables a much more constructive dialogue.
